Coffee Jelly is a dessert flavored coffee, sugar and milk. Once you started to chew the jelly with the essence of coffee, you will realize the beauty of coffee specially if you are fond of drinking it. The taste became perfect due to combination of milk, cheese, and sugar, and of course its ice cold really gives a big difference on every scope of it. It is most common in Japan served in restaurant and cafes. Often cut into cubes and served in a variety of dessert and beverages. But in the Philippines, we made it a little more tasty by adding condensed milk, cheese, and cream. Easy to make yet but refreshing to eat.
Ingredients:
1 sachet 25 grams Gelatin powder (Mr. Gulaman)
4 cups Water
2 tablespoon Nescafe Classic
1/2 cup Sugar
1 1/2 cups Condensed Milk
1 cup Evaporated Milk
1 cup Nestle Cream
1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
Procedure:
Step 1
In a pot, use enough water to boil the tapioca pearl for one hour over low medium heat.
You can see the tapioca pearl will be cooked outside only after an hour. Then, set aside for
5 long hours or overnight if you have more time to do it. Once you soaked it for 5 hours
completely, wash it gently to remove the unwanted jellies. Then boil it again for 20 to 30
minutes over low heat. Then set aside again for one hour, then strain for the liquid. You can
watch the video down below for better instruction.
Step 2
Meanwhile, start cooking your coffee jelly while the tapioca is in the process of soaking.
In a pot, pour 4 cups of water, Mr. Gulaman powder, and sugar. Constantly stir it over
low medium heat. When it is hot enough, pour the coffee powder and dissolve it by stirring
constantly. Continue stirring until 5 to 7 minutes or until no granules are visible.
Step 3
Transfer the coffee jelly mixture to a container and cool it down for 10 minutes. It will form to solid once it is completely cool down. Refrigerate for 1 hour, then cut into cube for about an inch.
Step 4
Strain the tapioca pearl and cut the cheddar cheese into small cubes. Then prepare for a bowl for combining coffee gelatin, tapioca pearl, evaporated milk, condensed milk, cheese, and nestle cream.
Step 5
Refrigerate for 1 hour and serve cold.
