Chili Chicken

Chili chicken is an Indo-Chinese cuisine that propagated also in Middle East. In India, it is mainly prepared with boneless chicken. I tried a whole parts of the chicken so that we have a twist, a Filipino Style. Another beer match that suits to your budget. Try to cook chili chicken and I guarantee that you will love it.




Marination Ingredients:


500 gms.        Chicken
1 tsp               Salt
1/2 tsp.          Ground Black Pepper
1 tbsp.           Soy Sauce
1 tbsp.           Vinegar
1 tsp.             Sugar



Butter Ingredients:


1 cup            All Purpose Flour
1 piece.        Egg
3 tbsp.          Corn Flour
1/2 tsp.         Baking Powder
1 tbsp.          Cooking Oil.
1 cup            Water


Sauce Ingredients:


8 cloves            Minced Garlic
1 tbsp.              Minced Ginger
1 pc.                 Onion Chop Quarterly
1-2 pcs.            Bell Pepper
1 tsp.                Corn Flour
1/4 cup             Water
1 tbsp.              Soy Sauce
1 tbsp.              Vinegar
1/2 tsp.             Salt
1/2 tsp.             Ground Black Pepper
3 tbsp.              Brown Sugar
1 tbsp.              Hot Sauce (optional)
2 tbsp.              Ketchup.
3 pcs.               Chillies (bird's eye)




Marination Procedure:


Step 1:   Cut the chicken into cube pieces (2 inch square).

Step 2:   Combine all ingredients and mix until well incorporated.

Step 3:   Set aside for atleast 30 minutes.


Butter Procedure:


Step 1:   Combine all butter ingredients.

Step 2:   Gradually add water while mixing until reach the consistency.

Step 3:   Seat aside for 10 to 15 minutes.

Now, once we finished the process of marination and butter, we are going to combine the butter
to the marinated chicken. Then we will start to heat up the stove to medium heat for frying.

Cooking Procedure:



Step 1:   Deep fry the butter coated chicken to 2 cups of oil. 

Step 2:   Once you finished frying all the nuggets, saute garlic, ginger and onion to 1 tbsp. of oil.

Step 3:   Once the onion gets translucent, add bell pepper.Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 4:   Add soy sauce and vinegar, and do not stir for three minutes once you add vinegar.

Step 5:   Dissolve cornstarch to 1/4 cup of water and add to the pan. Stir it thoroughly.

Step 6:  Season with salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, and chilies.
              Lower the heat to low medium and cook for 5 minutes. You can adjust the ingredients
              according to your taste. You can add more chilies if you want it more spicy.

Step 7:   Combine the chicken nuggets to the sauce and stir it until the sauce incorporate to the
              chicken. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
